I am a Ph.D. student in International Relations at the School of International Service (SIS), American University (AU), Washington, D.C. I am also the program manager of AU’s Center for Security, Innovation & New Technology.

My research focuses on the relationship between emerging technology, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), and the fields of democracy studies and security. My doctoral research is related to the challenges AI presents to democratic governance both domestically and globally.

Outside of my doctoral work, my scholarship explores how technology influences geopolitics, international security, and governance. This includes research that examines how generative AI is affecting foreign malign influence operations and how it shapes grey zone warfare. I also have professional and academic experience researching dis- and misinformation campaigns, extremism, and election interference.

I hold an M.A. in Global Policy Studies from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs, University of Texas and a B.A. in both International Relations and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Texas at Austin.
